Now, since thats taken care of, let's begin...........
When you first leave home for college, you may experience many different emotions. You could be scared, frightened, happy, sad, or any other. There are also so many uncertainties. However, every student entering college feels the same way. No one knows what to expect. I learned that many students share the same problems such as homesickness, money management, stress, and anxiety. College can be stressful along with leaving home. This is why researching and understanding what to expect is important.
Keeping in contact with family members, close friends, and others who make you happy can help with the transformation of going to college. When you come to Purdue, you’ll find others who are interested in the same things you are. You have to be open during the first couple of weeks though, this is when most people find there friends.
Money management is an important issue for college students. Some college students live in financial crisis because a majority of them do not know how to manage money. A majority of the money college students have is spent rather than saved. This is because of credit card debt, tuition payments, and the cost of living. Taking a money management class or making a budget for yourself can help.
Being homesick can be a result of having a wonderful relationship with parents. You do not want to leave home because of all of the happy memories and fun you have while at home. How close you live to home can also affect the way you feel about leaving. Just remember you can always call, email, or visit on the weekends.
Just remember, going to college is a wonderful opportunity to shape the rest of your life. Enjoy it while you’re here. Remember to study and take plenty of naps. You can make it, just believe in yourself!!
