BUS SYSTEM

Bus Route

As a freshman, you can’t bring your car to Purdue University unless you came from at least 300miles away. So lot of freshmen tends to relay on Bus system that Purdue University provides, which is very useful and sometimes it’s even easier since the University lacks such a parking spot. Even if you brought your car and get parking permit, you could only get Permit C, which is very far away from campus area and hard to get a spot. By working 30 hours or more, you could get Permit A or B, but that is still not enough. By the time you park your car and walk to campus, it’s rather easier to take bus, especially on rainy day or snowy day.

“City Bus” provides campus loops, fixed routes for people who live off campus and Trolley which is free transportation. Its information is on “http://www.gocitybus.com/” Not only it’s free, no matter where you live, you will be able to get on the bus and get to pretty much every where. There are buses that takes you to 24 hour super Wal-Mart, Tippecanoe shopping Mall, Hospital, all the off-campus housings and etc. Also after 6PM, there is special bus that goes around the campus till 3AM in the morning even on Saturday.

People live on McCutcheon or Hillenbrand Hall, I recommend taking Gold Loop and from campus, take back Silver Loop. For Harrison, Earheart, Meredith and Shreve Hall, I recommend taking Silver Loop both ways. Ross Ade and Tower Acres are for people who live on Hilltop Apartment. Black and Night Rider are there for late night. These loops are most loops that almost most of freshman takes, since not many of freshmen live off campus.
